The problem
AI coding assistants can make changes quickly, but development teams still need reproducible checks, review boundaries and visible evidence before accepting those changes.
What I built
Tollgate packages reusable development workflows, verification scripts and agent guidance into a versioned harness. It supports change-aware checks for Laravel and Angular, targeted browser tests with Playwright, and risk-based paths for independent QA review.
Design decisions
- Verify the changed surface before running more expensive checks.
- Keep checks deterministic and separate from the AI agent proposing code.
- Use pre-push verification and optional guarded commit workflows.
- Preserve human review rather than representing optional gates as universally enforced.
What it demonstrates
Building safety rails for AI-assisted software development through testing, explicit workflow boundaries and developer ergonomics.
